In 1974, while in the
United States Navy, stationed in Alameda, California, Robert Matelski
walked the aisle at a small Baptist church. As it turned out, this was
the first step in Robert learning to serve the Lord and responding to
His call upon Robert’s life. Today, Robert is so thankful to that one
person who was following God’s will and invited him to church. After
being released from military service in 1977, Robert went back home to
New Jersey and rarely went to church. Many questions without answers
had started to creep into Robert’s life. In 1991, Robert relocated to
Georgia from New Jersey, and, once again by the invite of someone,
Robert started to attend a small Baptist church in Lawrenceville,
Georgia. Some 21 years after walking the aisle in Alameda, California,
Robert really came to know the Lord as his personal Lord and Savior.
